Inside Ahrefs

Evidence standards

Research notes with their sources. Company claims and our hypotheses are labeled separately. These notes do not establish what caused growth.

This product has no reviewed breakdown yet. Its listing and traction figures are separate evidence; they do not explain why the business succeeded.

What to investigate before building an alternative

Interview the target customer: what problem remains unsolved, and would they pay for a different solution?
Check the official product site for current features, pricing, and supported markets.
Compare the alternatives below. Similar features do not establish identical customers or economics.
Validate a distinct audience, workflow, language, or distribution channel. Treat each as a hypothesis.
Define an original MVP. Technical architecture, acquisition costs and customer retention remain unknown unless a source discloses them.
