Darker than Black

Darker than Black is a Japanese anime television series created and directed by Tensai Okamura and animated by studio Bones. It was broadcast for 25 episodes on MBS, TBS, and their affiliated stations from April to September 2007. The series is set in a world where two spatial anomalies, "Heaven's Gate" in South America and "Hell's Gate" in Tokyo, appeared and altered the sky, wreaking havoc on the landscapes. Shortly afterwards, people with special abilities, labeled as Contractors, emerged. The story follows Hei, an agent in the Syndicate organization, and his comrades as they operate in a vastly altered version of contemporary Tokyo to uncover the mysteries of Hell's Gate.
